Can prayer speed up the second coming of jesus?

Why would Jesus want to come back to this world? What, is he going to wake up one morning and go: "Oh I know what I'll do, I'll leave this plain of endless happiness and go to where a bunch of bipedal apes have caused hunger, greed, war, disease and misery." Yeah. That'll happen.
