Which pharmacy program do I pursue?
If your interests include retail, management, and hospital, you have to get a Pharm.D. You cannot get licensed as a pharmacist without it. If you decide your interests are more along the lines of R&D, then more good news - Pharm.D.'s can certainly be hired for such purposes (3 of my classmates now do drug development research, though 2 of the 3 are going back for Ph.D's in pharmaceutical sciences). Clinical research is something a Pharm.D. can do, and more and more Pharm.D.'s are landing principal investigator roles in NIH-funded studies (and other grants as well).
